Neurobics is a term coined in 1999 by late neurobiologist Lawrence Katz, and it describes a concept wherein individuals can employ simple mental and physical exercises that enhance brain performance by growing new neurons and dendrites. The idea is that, by stimulating the brain with non-routine actions and sensations, new neural pathways are forged while the aging process of the brain is slowed down.
Here’s a tiny little “magic show” I threw together to illustrate a couple of ways I use neurobics. If nothing else, I think that, by trying out some of these ideas, you’ll notice an increase in your creativity — and maybe even in some of your abilities!
